Overview

A Tawang bike trip is a thrilling adventure through the stunning landscapes of Arunachal Pradesh, starting usually from Guwahati. The journey spans around 7–8 days, covering key spots like Kaziranga, Bomdila, Dirang, and the majestic Sela Pass before reaching Tawang. Riders experience high-altitude mountain passes, Buddhist monasteries, alpine lakes like Madhuri Lake, and the serene beauty of Bum La Pass. The roads are challenging and scenic, making it ideal for seasoned bikers. An Inner Line Permit (ILP) is mandatory for Indian travelers. The best time for the trip is between April–June or October–February, depending on whether you want greenery or snow. Proper planning, fuel backup, and acclimatization are essential for a safe and enjoyable ride.
